Need help with wheels/rims

Hey guys im new to this and i was wondering if its possible to put 17 inch rims with 205/40x17 tires on my 2005 pontiac G6 (comes stock with 205/60x16) without it scraping?

You should be fine mine are 1" wider than yours and they dont rub. But for future reference you can use this calculator to compare.

I run 245/45 on my 18's u will be fine.

205 is pretty narrow. The stock 17's had 215 and 225 widths I believe.

I'd pick a different aspect ratio if that's the section width you want to stick with. The 205/40r17 is ~2 inches smaller in diameter than the 205/60r16.

My 6 is on stocks with 225/50R17 tires.
