Diff size tires abs? Light

Will having slightly different size tires front to back throw an abs code? The stock are 225/50/17 and looking to replace one back set with 235/45/17 i just seen they're 3/8" different. Shouldn't have any problems?

No, it won't trip a code. However it may fool the ABS readings and trigger the ABS prematurely and causing slightly longer braking distance.

I get similar questions in my career in the 4x4 industry.
The car compares wheel speeds to determine if a position is moving slower than the others, as an indicator of lock up, and releases that wheel to roll rather than skid 'move slow'. The percentage of difference is a function of the programmed algorithm in the ABS software.
Not sure in traction control factors in just front wheels, or all four.
The difference is marginally different, shouldn't be a problem, but the best bet would be to get matching of at all possible.

You could replace it with 245/45-17 which will cause no problem with traction control, ABS, or speedometer calibration. But they may be too wide and may upset the car's handling.
