I'm thinking the steering wheel noise and the shaking are unrelated.

Get your tires balanced.

I've had the steering wheel noise. The steering shaft needs lubricated somewhere near the bottom. Can't tell you exactly what/how but the shop put it up on a hoist and did it in 2 minutes. Didn't even charge me for it.
The shaking is unrelated. Take it to a competent tire/front end shop, hard to diagnose without seeing it.
