Future Modifications (need suggestions)

Hey guys,

So I finally became a proud owner of a g6 yesterday!!!! I am super stoked because I finally have a car with power windows/locks (coming from an 02 stripped Saturn SC1). Anyways, I have been on this site for a couple of weeks now reading up on g6's and all the modifcations I can do. So I created a list of future modifications and I would like all of your opinions as to whether I should add/delete some. Of course, budget is a concern, but I really want to do my car right.

List!
1. Tint: Want to add 5% to rear window. Since I am moving to Jersey and have a couple, unfortunately I really can't/don't want to tint the sides.
2. Headlights: I already set up a forum
3. Crabs: I like how BA it looks and hopefully will sound with option 3.
4. Switch wood trim to the shiny silver. (Possibly trade with one of you in the future)
5. Debadge: probably will happen today. And add a transformer logo.
6. Stereo: maybe my funnest and biggest challenge. I like subwoofers when complimented with the right tweets and mid. However, I have a convertible so I am really limited to options. I have seen the subwoofer-in-place-of-spare trick and I did enjoy that. But I think I will be inspecting those 2 speakers in the back seat and see how deep I can go there. (That's what she said.)

Let me know what you all think!

TY! 2008 Convertible w/Sport Package and the color is that funky black paint with silver stuff in it like a dark charcoal. It looks black on a sunny day and dark gray on a cloudy day.

welcome...maybe instead of switching out your trim you do a little sand, prime, paint? alot of members have done this (not sure if done with wood trim but if you prime i don't see a problem) and it looks great.

Lampoon: I have been thinking about adding a t-formers logo there as well. I have been reading the solstice's forums about it (since the movies actually used the solstice). I am still undecided though.

Clown: IMO I really like the silver finish on the other 6s that I test drove. However, you did bring up an interesting point of doing paint work to it. I actually might consider it once I establish a theme or color pattern for my car.

Only Goofy people paint their interior trim....

Actually I have a surprise in the transformers department on my G6.
I will unveil it soon enough though. heh hehhhh

Here is a hint....he is not an Autobot anymore.

TF1 had a Solstice. TF2 had a GTO & in TF3 there is a G6.
Look for em. The Solstice is the easy one to spot.

I doubt you will be able to swap trims as the verts trim is unique to the verts (I believe).
There are few vert owners and I doubt any that want the fake mahogany.

Painting the interior pieces is actually pretty easy, and you can get it any color you want.

As for stereo, it will be a little trickier because you have the convertible. but its definitely do'able and you can get a lot of help here.

As for tint, it is illegal to tint the front windows here as well, but everyone does it and as long is it isn't too dark, you dont have a problem with the cops. Although, i'm not sure if they have inspections in Jersey or not..

You can check out my gallery to see my stereo setup

2006 G6 GT
Mods so far: Black arrow overlays, Chrome recessed grilles, Blue LED license plate light, Blue LED reverse lights, Smoked tails, 20% Tint all around, Red led's for the interior, White led dome and map lights.
Sound System: 4 Infinity Kappa component speakers, 2 Amps (950w total) and 2 10" Kenwood KFC subwoofers, 7" touch screen Pioneer DVD

Performance: Mobile 1 oil, Mobile 1 oil filter

Lampoon I love 'em! Is that why I don't have my Crabs yet? HAHA
How about an autobot logo??

Ensur3, it is actually not illegal to tint the fronts (sides). Law allows 20% or lighters on the front driver and front passenger and as dark as you want anywhere in backseat or back window.

Where as in Jersey, up until a year ago you could fail inspection with tinted sides. But they changed that and I talked to a popo and he said it's a $54 non-point fine.

I'll check out your gallery now.

With the DDIN display, did you take out your info bar? I want to keep that in my car, but I haven't found a place in my car where it looks good.

And with the subs, do you know of anyone throwing them in the spots of the 6x9's in the rear seats? For some reason, I wrote I had a "couple" which I meant to say "Coupe" but actually have a convertible, so that's how my options are limited.

As for the current mod status... I debadge that damn dart in the back. I can't tell you how much of a bitch that was. I have my transformer symbol ready to be placed on but still want to debadge everything else. I ordered my black halos and crabs and will be getting them over the next few weeks.
