My Souped Up G6

Anyone know how to get carbon fiber pillars for a 2010 White G6 sedan?
I bought all carbon fiber for my interior.

Bought two 12 inch subwoofers and a mono channel amp, two 6 1/2 JBL speakers, two 6x9 JBL speakers and 4 channel amp.

Whole system ran about $2000

I have my windows tinted to the legal limit in WI.

White LED dome light.

Just bought some Halo projectors, and fog lights.

I bought LED lights for under my seats... should look amazing once it's done.

If you haven't seen these before, check them out!

Anyone also know how to get a throttle control for 2010 G6 Sedan?
And suggestions for rims?

That's pretty impressive. $2000 seems a little excessive for the setup though.

definitely pricey...still didn't see the 6.5's or 6x9's though. you should swap out those map lights to match the dome light

I'm getting the 6x9 and 6 1/2 shipped to me now. Add those and the 4 channel map and then the kicker amp for the 2 subs. An amp power kit and pre out converter. I have a radar detector that you can see is embedded in my car. All that plus the install was right around $2000, and i got my windows tinted at the same time.

Agreed, especially with the equipment listed. What'd they charge for install if you don't mind my asking? Kinda sounds like you got ripped off for everything listed.

So the cool thing is i work at Best Buy and receive a great discount.

I'll add it all up and tell you what i paid.

Two Kicker 12 inch subs regular price: $409.99 my price: $135.99
Polk audio 6 1/2 speakers regular price: $99.99 my price: $24.99
Polk audio 6x9 speakers regular price: $199.99 my price: $53.99
Polk audio 4 channel amp regular price $199.99 my price: $38.99
Kicker mono amp regular price: $349.99 my price: $119.99
Window tinting regular price: $299.99 my price: $99.99
Radar detector regular price: $299.99 my price: $99.99
The subs and radar detector install regular price: $199.99 my price: $99.99

My speakers haven't been installed yet. I just bought them, they're being installed in about 2 weeks. Along with the DVD navigation system i picked up tonight Kenwood regular price $999.99 and i got it for $649ish. So good discount there too. I need that and the 4 speakers installed still.

So for what i've paid for so far it would have regularly cost me $2060. What i paid was $672 not counting the DVD navi system.

So i nowhere near overpaid for anything

I had Best Buy install my sub once. They overcharged me easily, but I didn't know better. Plus, some of those prices are outrageous and just make it SEEM like you got a good deal. $300 for window tinting? That's crazy. Search for these model numbers online and I'm sure you could get most of them cheaper there.

$300 for the material and install of window tinting is what Best Buy charges, so yeah you could go somewhere else for cheaper. However, all other prices are not overdoing it. Yes i could have gotten them online for a little bit cheaper but those are regular retail prices. And yes, they overcharge because thats all margin basically. One of the few ways Best Buy makes money.

But i'm new at this whole thing, i don't know anything about cars, which is why i'm on this site 24/7! Haha. Do you have any suggestions for other speaker systems?

I'm real big into Home Theater stuff. I love TV's and know everything about them and surround sound. That's why i need a good system in there. So i'm willing to pay more for better sound.

Oh Polk speakers, in your original post you say JBL. And you could've done the install by yourself or with your buddy in a weekend easy, even being new to it. Remember you want good quality out of your door speakers, especially with subs. With that you'll have a quality sound instead of just hearing the thump from the subs over the vocals. Nothing worse than having subs installed and all you hear is the bass.

I was gonna get JBL speakers because we get good deals on them. But then i changed my mind to polk. But today i returned those as well.

Think i'm going with the QS model that Kicker carries since i have Kicker subs.
Regularly 550 and i get em for 165 i believe. I really can't decide but that's what im leaning toward.

I'll definitely be putting up pics. Should be done in 2 weeks max.
