A different blacked out headlight

I just picked these up:

Black headlights

for my G6 because they use the stock bulb sizes and I already have HIDs for the stock headlights. I'm sure they're not everyone's idea of good, but I liked them and it was easier to buy these than paint my current ones like I wanted.

Just a heads up for y'all.

Left a 421RWHP 2004 GTO, but honestly loving the G6 GT coupe!

Past Pontiacs
87' white Firebird(sold)
01' green Grand Am SE2(traded for the 03')
03' orange Grand Am SC/T(totaled)
04' blue GTO(traded for the G6)

Current Pontiacs
00' tan Montana(I swear, its the wife's)
06' black G6 GT Coupe

they look alright...but for $100 more you can have black EE's with projector bulbs, halos and LED's

good find though

That's the thing, I already have 45 bucks into my h11 HIDs and the eagle eyes don't use h11's, so I'd have to buy new bulbs (about 30 bucks for bulbs only). And I'm not a fan of doing something to a car that was taken from another type of car, i.e. port holes on non-buicks, led headlight strips on non-audi's, and halos on non-bmw's. (no offense to anyone). My GTO had the black headlights so in my book, these are all good IMHO.

Again, not trying to stir the pot, the eagle eyes look good, just not my tastes.

Hey, I like these a lot! Please post pics once installed so we can see how they look. I might be interested in buying a set for myself personally as well.

I'm liking those to. I understand already having the bulbs. I run Piaa bulbs (I like performance not looks), and they cost more then the cheap HIDs. I would also add eyelids.

Had a 07 GTP coupe, traded in for my GTI....

Just got them today and put in. I must say they look awesome in person! I've attached some pics and there was a lot of sun glare on the clear outer housing, so its hard to see the detail.

As for the install and fit, install is straight forward, it's just like changing the bulbs. The fit is really good, but not great. The driver side headlight is perfect, but the passenger side Is not flush by a hair. I would assume that most would never notice it, but I'm very anal when it comes to stuff like this. And yes, I tried playing with it a bit

UPDATE:
These get two extra credit points for night driving!
1) the light pattern looks better since there's not all that chrome bouncing the light in crazy directions.
2) with my stockers, the light would flutter over little bumps and it was annoying, but for some reason it's gone with these.

Overall, I would give these a 97% out of 100. Sorry for the small size, it's all I can upload with my phone since I'm at work. I'll get a progression thread going soon with better pics.

UPDATE 2:
See my lower post about condensation. Unacceptable, so my rating is going down to 60%...

I cannot in good conscious recommend these. If one needs to seal up new headlights, one might as well take apart their originals, paint to what they want and re-seal.

UPDATE 3:
It's been a few weeks now since I got my replacement headlamp and no leaking or fogging. I just got a bad one the first time around. I'm still up In the air on if I would recommend these to anyone just because the quality control is crap and there is a risk that you may get a bad one too. I would say that make sure that where ever you order these from that they have a return/replacement policy.

So onto the pics:

Well... Some bad news, these aren't as great as I thought. The car had been through a few rains with these headlights in so I thought all was well. After my wash, by hand with a garden hose, one of the headlights filled up with some water. I didn't notice at first as it was not enough to be visible, but as the sun heated up the headlight, TONs of condensation.

I wasn't able to dry it out and for the most part the water was gone, but there are a few water marks on the inside. I then went out to the parts store and got clear RTV. I sealed the shit out of the headlight and only time will tell if it's fixed. Not real happy about this.

Here is a pic:

With my headlights I removed one of the rubber covers from the back of the highbeam light to get rid of the moister. Mine is a Spyder but i tried resealing to no avail then I was like well maybe the light temp was causing it and bingo.. no more moister after allowing air to get in

Yes I did. I even went as far as opening up all the light locations (taking the bulbs out) and running a blow drier on warm through there for a half hour. Then let them sit all night before I sealed the next day. We'll se what happens...
