Hole under the arrow?

Does anyone know? Is there a hole under the Pontiac arrowhead on the back that would need to be bondo'd and repainted or is it just 3M'd on? Cuz if it is...it's coming off with a quickness, but if there's a hole...it's staying on and getting a black overlay. Anyone know? I'd much rather this than finding out the hard way haha.

Aight sweet man, thanks. I think I may go ahead and take it off tonight rather than painting it black. I think I'm going to paint and overlay the front one black and paint the chrome on the front and the windows black as well. I'm going to completely black this thing out haha. What did you use to paint yours black?

i sanded the chrome down for texture. primed. then used dupli-color gloss black, and dupli-color clear coat.

Nice, so just spray paint eh? Sounds easy enough, but I'm sure I'll find a way to screw it up haha. I just gotta figure out how to get all that stuff off without breaking it or scratching my car.

take some degreaser and spray it behind the arrow head the best you can and take your fishing line or w.e your going to use and peel it off that way. eassy to do..

when you spray paint it make sure you let it dry for a couple hours before touching, the 1st time i went to put it back i left my thumb print on it cuz the paint that i thought 'felt" dry wasnt as dry as i thought.

Yeah, I'll for sure make sure they dry completely. What I'm concerned with is getting the emblems and the chrome pieces off the car. Dunno how to get the hood or window pieces off. I have an idea, but I'm gonna have to find a how to because I refuse to do it and screw up my paint or break off a piece.

the front dart is also just 3m'd on. there are 2 holes on the front dart that has prongs to the dart for some reason? it didnt make sense to me and you wont even realize it till you've taken the dart off but you will break them, but they do nothing but align the front dart which also doesnt matter because the front dart is sunken into the car so you will know if its straight or not because it would look funny......

im not sure if you have the coupe or sedan but if you have the sedan... open up the front doors and you will see a screw on the inside of the door close to where it latches... its a single screw. undo the screw and go to the outside of the car, and pop up the chrome piece. pull out, then up.

for the rear doors, the screw is on the side of the door when the hinges are not where the door latches. undo that screw and do the same procedure...

just for reference... the side that screw is on is the side that the chrome piece will pop up for you

Oh nice. Cool, thanks man. That sounds easy enough. Now I'm debating on if I want to take the back arrow off or just black it out. I'm leaning towards taking it off... I think it would look cleaner than having a bump in the shape of an arrow...

Thanks for the info on how to do that man, appreciate it.

I'm inclined to agree with the "cleaner look" statement. I haven't done a full blackout and I am doing some red highlights on my 6'er but this should give you an idea of what you'll get if you remove the rear dart (the front dart is the only badge left on my car).
