Yep! Many other users have done it! You just need to replace the rear lower bumper cover with one that has dual cut-outs. You can buy a brand new one from GM at GMPartsDirect.com or you can search around for a used dual exhaust lower cover (valance)

Once you get the body work sorted it's just a matter of exhaust, Many go with dual outlet mufflers, some get a Y pipe and put two mufflers, It's really up to you, where you want to go with sound and such.

It's really personal preference, there's plenty to choose from, though I'm not suited to answer that question because I only did a resonator delete on my exhaust, and I plan to keep it as a single exhaust..

But you can go with a style like this, Closest to OEM:
.

Or dual muffler like this:

Do some research on mufflers and such, Flowmaster and Magnaflow are popular favorites, so is Vibrant. Try searching the forums for dual exhaust, you'll find a lot of members who have done it and there should be some good info.

I have a single out magnaflow and my body kit is a dual out. This was helpful. I'll probably consult the local exhaust shop for the 1to2 single muffler

Work Done:
GTE Stage1, RAIZIN voltage stabilizer, CAI, 18" Driftz wheels wrapped in General G-Max, JET V-Force Plus, Magnaflow exhaust, Eagle Eyes w/ Notto HID conversion, VHT Nightshade taillights 10"JL Audio sub in ported box, CRABS, eibach springs.
[SIZE="3"][B]Near Future Work:, MPD Ram Air Hood, Window Tint, body kit, stealth paint job

I've heard of people using a glasspack to remove the rasp. If you look inside it's cut a certain way, if installed one way it'll cut down the rasp, if put the other way it really won't make much difference. You can get them from pretty much anywhere.

I would say try a glasspack, it'll likely get rid of the rasp and make it sound better. Also check out G6performance.com if you haven't already. I've seen a few people using glasspacks with a magnaflow muffler. Also I bet there are videos around the youtube.

I have a completely custom catback system, resonator delete, flowmaster 40series one in two out, stainless steel piping and tips and it sounds really good! Goes from 2"-2.5" the pic is a little hard to see and it was before my duel valence came in but I love it!
