Hid question? Not sure what to get !!! Help...

Hey everyone, I have a 09 G6 and I'm planning on up grading to some nice hid lights, I found a good place with very high quality lights ... Now here's the thing I already have my projector headlights with ccfl halos ... But there is where I'm stuck... I'm fairly sure I'm gonna go with a 8000k blue but not sure whether to go with 55 watt or 35 watt and if I should go with 6k... I want a bright ass light with some nice blue to tinge... Here is the link to the lights I'm looking at pleaE give me some insight y'all lol....

My opinion would be to go 35W 5000K. But between your 2 options, 35W 6000K. You can get HIDs from DDM for half of what they are charging.

I would go with DDMTuning kits as well.
they have this chart to show color difference between 35w and 55w. 55w is brighter but will bleach the color more.

I second the motion on DDM Tuning. Their prices and customer service are great.

Definitely go with the 35w and either 5000 or 6000k. Anything higher than that turns blue then purple; your light output goes way down, and IMO they're extremely annoying for oncoming traffic.

Xenons suck. They're not HID, and you won't get the same light temperature from them. Basically they're halogens with a blue coating.

You say you want "bright as the sun with a tint of blue"...5 - 6K is your best bet and definitely don't get anything over 7000; you won't get the "bright as the sun" look you're going for.

Been there, done this.

Xenon isn't HID? You might want to recheck that.

Garage
35W 6000K from DDM is the way to go. I got mine for less than $35/set. Don't worry about mounting brackets, get the heavy load 3M double stick tape (home depot, etc...). Just make sure you clean the bottom of the light housing good before attaching them (lesson learned, lol). You can even attach the ballast for your hi beam right next to the lo beam if you want.

I just got my HID kit in the mail today. I ordered mine from amazon. It's a company called Xentec. I got 5000k for light temp. I like functionality over form. I want bright lights not crazy colors. I have a question about installing them will I have to modify the back of the headlight for the wiring to work?

Nice!

These usually come with a rubber gasket somewhere along the wiring to the bulb. In order to get a water-tight seal on the headlamp assembly, you'll have to drill out the back cover of the low-beam lamp to accommodate the gasket. I used a 1" spade bit on the drill; you'll have to measure your gasket and use the correct size bit. The gasket fits in the hole you drilled and you're good to go.

The install on these is actually pretty easy. Secure the ballast to the bottom of the headlamp assembly; I used silicone adhesive.

The hardest thing is getting the headlamps out of the car

Gotcha. I guess I'll have to make a gasket for the back of the headlight. The kit I got didn't come with one.

It's a grommet, not a gasket.

I didn't have to drill out the back of my lights. Just tucked the wiring inside and made it come through the existing grommet.

Well I went to install my hid kit and one of the ballasts is dead. I tried both ballasts and one doesn't work. I emailed the place where I bought then from and I have to wait til Monday to hopefully hear from them. So mad, I wanted them in soo bad.
