Aftermarket Seats

Has anyone tried putting aftermarket seats in their car? My '07 G6 has a big tear in the front driver's side seat and I'd like to just get some seats that are better quality than the stock ones. I don't care if they're racing seats or not. I'd like seats that are both comfy and good looking. Ideally, I'd like to spend less than $600 on the pair. Also, my interior is black so I'd like seats that complement that and the red from the dash. Thanks in advance!

I haven't seen anyone swap in like bucket seats (that I know of), but people have swapped other G6 seats into their cars. I'm currently looking for black leather seats to replace my tan cloth seats

How difficult is it to take out the old seats and put in new ones? I shouldn't need another mounting bracket if I stick with G6 seats, right? I'm considering just going to a junkyard to get a new seat.

Shouldnt be hard at all. Mine (alero) is two bolts at back of track then you just pop the seat out of place.

I have sparco torino 2 racing seats in mine. I actually bolted the driver racing seat to my stock electric track so my racing seat has power if you did racing seats. Makensure you take lots of measurements of both your stock seating area and track along with the new aftermarket seat.

I've heard racing seats are really uncomfortable to sit in. Is that true?

No! Well I guess it depends. To me... my sparcos are 10x more comfortable then my stock seats.

Here is a picture with mine in. Its really all about personal preference. You really cant just order a seat offline and expect it to be comfortable. You have to go "test sitting" in aftermarket seats before you decide what you want. The last thing you want to do is spend big $$$ on seats. Take the time to install them, then sit in them and be like wow.... this is very uncomfortable. Anyway heres a look at mine. Also I had a harness in for awhile. But its now out of the car.

Those seats look really nice, but I don't think I have the money to spend on them (a quick search on google had those seats at $700 each). I'm starting to wonder if off brand seats on eBay are comparable. They're only $250 for a pair of seats and they look similar. I'm just not sold on the quality.

Thanks. Search around. These seats are about 1200 for the pair. Funny thing is. I bought the set from a guy for 420$! Did the woolite cleaning solution on the seats when I got them home and they are literally like new. I was very lucky to find them and that cheap. The guy pullwd them out of his old honda hatch... but anyway. Deals are out there. Just have to find them.
