Exhaust Tip

So can anyone tell me anything about the exhaust tip. My '05 G6 has an older ugly kind not the silver steel. I was wonder how easy it is to replace and what to replace it with.

I saw one at GM Accessories but I don't know much about it.

Okay I could just buy one then and have them replace it with the other one by welding it on?

Would it be recommended to take it to a shop to do it?

If money matters, you can get a very similar tip (angle cut, polished, dual wall) at your Advanced Auto parts store for a quarter of the price.

My dad added a bolt-on exhaust tip on my last car and it looks fine from the street, but closer up you can see the metal hose clamp used to attach it to the exhaust pipes. If you have the extra money I would get one of the advanced auto parts ones and then have a professional weld it on.

There are bolt-ons that do show & ones that are screw strapped which are not as noticeable & much easier to install. Depending on there selection you can get a 6-10" that is too much within the bumper to even notice. No welding needed if you ever plan on changing it out.
