Blown Speakers?

Hello fellow owners,
I have a question about the stock (non-monsoon) speakers in a 2007 value leader. I just bought this G6 and I didn't bother to check the speakers via balance and fade. Should have, but no matter, I plan on putting a nice system in the car sooner than later. But as I checked the balance and fade the other night, the rear driver side speaker and front passenger speaker aren't outputting a single thing. No hum, hiss, crackle... nothing. I have a tester to see if there is a current, but first I thought I'd inquire with you pros on here to see if this is a common issue with an easy fix. There is nothing added to this system, so no amp, same stock head unit. But whats weird, is that I thought the base trim only had the 4 speakers, but this one has a tweeter on each front door and XM from the factory. Another question: What are the sizes of the speakers throughout the car? I can't seem to find a straight answer online. Looks like 6x9's in the back and 6 1/2's in the front and 1" tweeters? Thank you in advance!!!

Tweeters come with the base model also. The other models have highs mids and lows. Your speakers are most likely just blown. Super easy to replace. Just make sure you don't do what I did and rip the grilles out of the rear deck. Take it out the right way! Lol

Stock speakers are 6.5 in front. 6x9 in back. Not sure on the tweeters. I didn't bother replacing mine because they look like a major pain in the butt. To work with. They are glued in there pretty good!

Thanks for the input, I probably won't be replacing the tweeters lol they do look like they'd be a pain! I just realized today too, by looking in the manual that the head unit displays "Calibrate" every time I turn on the stereo. So there is a problem!! Haha I'm just hoping its the speakers and no wiring issues. I just didn't know if there was maybe some sort of fuse issue, but I can't find how that could be. I'll post again once I replace and/or check the wiring. Thanks again!

The tweeters are actually just clipped in. They're just as easy to take out as the 6.5's. And yes they are 1". Use a DMM to just the impedance of the speakers, that will tell you if they are blown or not. Or swap them to the other side and test them.

You know. I'm actually really confused by this. I can't find that size commonly used. But I swear my cutty had em. Maybe I'm loosing my mind or something ha

I'm just gonna say they were 6x9 because the more and more I think about it 16x9 does not sound right at all. No idea what I'm thinking

16:9 like the aspect ratio for tv's?! Haha too good!
So the tweeters clip in... Nice, maybe I'll look into improving those as well. Thanks!

They do clip in. But (at least in my 6) it looked like there was an entire stick of hot glue poured all over the clips and speakers. So I didn't mess with it. Lol

Just cut the glue. Its really not that hard :\ But if you're going to replace the tweeters just break or cut the tabs off as they have to be removed anyways.
