Questions about 2008 radio in 2007 G6

I just bought ebay item number 120430585442 hoping it will work in my car. I went ahead and bought it before asking questions due to the cheap price and 100%+ feedback.

Specifics on my car:
2007 4cyl G6
No steering wheel volume controls
Currently has CD player with no aux

I think that might be the only relevant stuff to add. If there is anything else, let me know. Should this radio work for me? I recently bought XM radio. Will this radio play XM without the receiver or will I still need the receiver connected to the CD player?

Thanks for the help.

You need this and the wiring to get the XM to work in the radio....
Clicky here

Remember you have to get the radio programed (via the Tech2) at your dealership....
Should cost between free to $80 depending on how nice they wanna be.

MODS:
Crab Intakes CAB, MPD Ram Air hood, Custom exhaust,
WAMS High Performance Tune and a whole lot more....

If I have the thing you linked to, do I need my current XM receiver?

The radio you bought is XM programmable but I cant walk you through this....
you would need the module, the wires, antenna and programming to have XM like stock.

So in other words, I might as well just stick to running it through the aux in? I already have a receiver.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks for your help. I'm just glad I don't have to use those pesky FM transmitters anymore.

One more thing, do I need a new wiring harness if I plan to use MY OWN XM receiver? The Pontiac dealership just gave me two different part number for the 07 and 08 harnesses.

Ugh. The dealership right near my office won't take my car in to replace the radio. They say it won't work and they won't even touch it.

Found another dealership to do it, but I have to swap cars with my girlfriend (she has an 06 G6) for a day so she can drive mine to the other 'ship.
