if you have the box on the trunk lid you probably already have xm.flick the buttons on your radio and see if xm comes up.you will at least get the promotion channels.i didn't know i had xm capibilities at first.
Thankyou zenish and dxg6. On the car i rebuilt the sat radio does not work. I know that my original question was worded funny! Lol. So essentially i would like to switch radio 1 (not working satellite radio) with my buddy’s working satellite radio.
Would that be strait out switch?
Many thanks!
you can't trade the indash radios without having the dealers match them to your car.antitheft stuff.you could try swapping the xm boxes.they are directly behind the back seat and are aluminum colored and about the size of a bible[or smaller].the antenna wire is hard to get off.
Zenish & dxG6,
I finally got back to this. The xm module appears to be locked out of my radio. Tomorrow I will check to see if it is still working in the original car.
Too bad I was getting excited. Perhaps someone knows an unlock procedure that I need to do first.
So yes , got it back into the original g6 and it still works there.
