Metra 99-3303

Hi, so i've been looking at the Metra 99-3303 for my g6 and im having some concerns. i've seen multiple ones that all seem to be a little different. I've seen ones that only accept single din receivers, i've seen ones that have a different dic, and i've seen ones that allow the dic to come out so that a double din can be used. i am really wanting to use a double din in my car, but i cannot seem to find the ones that allows me to do so. or do they all allow for the the removal of the dic so that i can use a double din?

these are the ones i am only able to find

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-08...#ht_3173wt_718

but a user had one of these which is what i want

https://www.g6ownersclub.com/forum/at...9&d=1268093299

so my main question is, can the one in the first link be used like the one in the second link?

Very cool. How did you mount the Metra in the glovebox?

Sorry, just not understanding clearly. Are there only 2 wires running to the Metra? I get confused with car wiring. GM makes this so complicated and expensive. It's frustrating... I have a nice DVD in mind, now I need 100 other things just to make this install happen.

Oh, no no no. The metra kit has a bunch of wires for each connector to it, but they are only made short enough to fit behind the dash. To do it like this you need to cut all of the wires and lengthen them. His are just wrapped in electrical tape so it looks like only 2 wires. It's really not that bad though. Only cost me about $180 total to run my DVD deck, and I'm much happier with it than with the stock one

I'm buying the kit now. I'll find someone a little more "capable" to help with the install lolz... I have little knowledge with wiring. Thanks for the reply. I read awhile back of people mounting it in the glovebox. This is what I plan on doing!

how much wire did you need to add to the metra kit to get it to the glove box? im about to do this myself, but it would make it alot easyer to exstend the adapters b4 i start installing stuff... id assume about a foot and a half... but i dont want to be surprised if i need to wire it some weird ass gm way, and end up needing like 5 feet of wire lol... thx

just do what i did and run the extension wire through where you plan on routing the metra and then cut it according to how far it will have to go.
