What's up with the cd changer??

I bought a wrecked 2007 G6 over a year ago. The cd changer was locked up, making a noise like it was trying to change cd's until my dad hit the side of the dash and 6 cd's came out. The changer worked fine for a while after that so I figured it was from the jolt of the car wreck. Then, after a while I would get a cd stuck every now and then and have to hit the side of the dash and it would come right out. Now, none of the cd's want to eject and I had to keep hitting the dash for a long time to get it to come out! Am I doomed to have to buy another cd changer or is there anything I can do to help it work right?
