Need advice on speakers/tweeters

Up until now I have always just worried about the low end in my cars, but i want this car to sound great overall. I started with an 8" kicker powered by a 300 watt mono kicker amp, and a jensen 7" lcd hu from a past car. But i dont know much about speakers/tweeters/crossovers. like brands to buy, what exactly cross overs do, and i saw some tweeters are fluid cooled? how does that work out?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice,
Mike

do want all 4 speakers to be replaced or just the up front 2?

if you want all 4 i would do something like this:

Front:Cadence ZRS-6K
Rear: Cadence ZRS-6K or Candence ZRS-5K

or something like this

Front: JL C2-650
Rear: JL C2 690tx

If you want just the fronts then something like this:

Cadence CVL6-KN

or

JL C3-650

The JL stuff assuming you go with the 4 speaker setup i recommended will put you a bit over your budget, but it is worth it if you want to go that route. I suggest you also go listen to some speakers in your local shop, see what you like.

Crossovers, to put it simply, filter out different frequencies and send them to your speakers. For component speakers, the crossover will filter out the high frequencies and send them to the tweeter and lower frequencies to the midbass speaker

he will definitely hear the rears with only 300W to the sub. i can still hear mine when i have it at 600W. I would assume hes going for a more sq setup than just total bass. and not upgrading the rear speakers will hurt the sq of the system

Depends for how high quality sound you are looking for.
If you're looking for high end but not necessarily competition sound, you can prolly do really well with the infinity kappa components.
And for about $200 or less.

Get both the 6x9 and the 6.5" infinity kappa component speakers.
The components come with crossovers, opposed to just coaxial speakers.

This is what i have in my car, and these speakers are sex to my ears.
All my friends go to brag about how their subs are louder than mine, but when they hear how clear and clean my speakers are they shut up instantly.

2006 G6 GT
Mods so far: Black arrow overlays, Chrome recessed grilles, Blue LED license plate light, Blue LED reverse lights, Smoked tails, 20% Tint all around, Red led's for the interior, White led dome and map lights.
Sound System: 4 Infinity Kappa component speakers, 2 Amps (950w total) and 2 10" Kenwood KFC subwoofers, 7" touch screen Pioneer DVD

Performance: Mobile 1 oil, Mobile 1 oil filter
