Young Driver!

Hey guys, I'm Dan!

I'm going into grade 12 after the summer break.

Back In February I got a job working for a director in our community band.
I now do lots of computer stuff for him.

Anyways, I saved up and I am now driving a used 2008 Pontiac G6 Sedan!

I love it, its absolutely amazing!

I've been lurking this site for a while now, so I decided to sign up! haha

I do have a couple questions to ask, If so could someone direct me to where I could get assistance!?

Thanks,

Dan!

Yes, The windows were tinted by the original owner, (he claimed they were factory done)

Yes that is a bolt on exhaust tip! haha nothing special.

I was actually thinking of upgrading my muffler, but it looks a bit weird.
I've come upon this magnaflow muffler at canadian tire,

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en

But when I looked under my car at the muffler, it looked like one of the pipes is going right to the middle of the muffler, versus the side like the on in the picture.

I'm not too knowledgeable on this, so any help is appreciated!

Does it need to be welded on, or can it just slide in place?
Do I need extra piping?
If I don't like the sound of something and want to revert to the factory muffler is that possible?

haha sorry for alot of questions,

any help would be great!

Thanks

Dan

You would take it to a muffler or car shop, they would cut the old muffler out and weld the new one in. Putting the stock muffler back in would be the same process.

is this possible to do myself?

I remember my dad having a 95 dodge neon and he cut the muffler off and it just slid right back on, (the old one was cracking and was too loud) so he got a new one.

There wasn't any welding in the process, just come clamps and those rubber hanger thingys.

Is there some sort of diagram for the exhaust system?
because mine looks a bit weird.

Like i said up there ^ I don't see how the new one would connect with previous piping...

It wont without some modifications. best bet is like Abyssul said try a muffler shop. but before you do that listen to different g6 mufflers on you tube, so you know which one you want to go with.

like waterfowler said before, get on youtube search g6's with custom exhaust, figure out which one you like the most, order, then if you feel confident enough to cut it out, install the new then go for it.... oh yea.. welcome!

Hey thanks guys!

I'll look around but that one sounds pretty good!

Also another question, I just recently noticed that my rear back bumper squeaks/creaks when you shake it or move it.

It's probably me just being picky about everything haha

any ideas?
Let me know,
Dan

You would have to bend some existing piping or cut back far enough to install some new piping to accomodate the new muffler. The main issue is that the new muffler requires the input port of the right side compared to the stock muffler which is located pointing towards the front of the car.

Getting a muffler shop to install the muffler is cheap compared to what other modifications require you to pay.
