Airbag Warning Light stays on.
I own a 2006 Pontiac G6. Recently I left my car for 5 weeks without being driven. During this period the inside temperatures got quite high during >30 C or >85 F outside temps. The warning light has never stayed on before but came on when I first started the car after the 5 weeks it was not used. It has stayed on now for 5 days. I have looked on the internet for advice and had the car checked for error codes so I could have them deleted to see if that would help. No error codes were detected with the attendants code reader. Is there a special code reader for detecting airbag fault codes? I know the approximate cost of sensors to be around $1000. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how did you correct it. I realize that when this light is on steady the airbags will not deploy. I have only driver and passenger airbags, no side impact bags. To start should I at least have a dealer mechanic look at it? Any advice and tips will be appreciated.
