New to Pontiac and site

Hi Guys,

New to Pontiac. We bought a new 2009 G6 base model. So far all is well and we like the car. Hope to have years of no regrets buying a GM product.

Thanks Wayne

Welcome! GM imo, is pretty good, but its the small things that break and fall apart. (they cant even make a 6CD changer work right let alone brake rotors that warp after 400 miles)

Current Mods:
07 G6 GT White, 84K, 35% Tint, 8k HID Lows/Fogs, Tinted Tails, DRL Delete, DexCool Delete (is that a mod?) Eibach Springs, EBC Brakes, Orange Calipers, De-Badged, Front Tower Strut Bar, Painted Engine/Battery Covers, CRABS Opt# 3, "Tiger CRAB Ram Air", Custom Catback stepped up to 2.5" from 2.25" tubing with purforated rez and free flow muffler.

Coming Soon:
18" rollers, LED red interior lighting, LED tails, Complete Audio System Renovation as I have blown it up, Sedan HH spoiler, Custom Seatcovers, dash cover and floor mats with the G6 Embroidery, Painted body color mirrors, wiper arms, both front grills, side skirts and rear facia all body color painted.

I'm quickly realizing that I don't like my aux that much... I've started listening to some old CD's again, and the quality, clarity and loudness sounds much better through the disc than via the aux cable from any of my devices.

...I think a new headunit would do a good fix, with some new speakers and a bass...

Overall its a good car. Needs a good sound renovation tho. At least a better amp and speakers. IMO, the speaker sound weak but can get loud if you know what i mean.

Mine went right after i bought the car. 33K. Replaced the front rotors with OE rotors and they too warped already. I want those R-1's you got.

James, I agree - even the Monsoon system feels like a step down from my old kenwood system in my Eclipse. I'm saving to do a bunch of renovations to my car at once, and sound (along with crabs :P) is at the top of my list...But then again, I have a really long list, and that doesn't help much.

Sorry for the hijack, yeah i don't like the monsoon that much,They should have used the same radio from my impala.

I checked my SPL lvl vs. my Friends G6 same SPL so the same loudness.

I also used my RTA to make a graph of the high/lows spots of the system, I found that the G6 can hit a lot of notes .(except the lower ones) however when it tries to play multiple tones at once aka music it just goes wrong which indicates crappy speakers.

Acoustics play a roll though..... I played with the EQ and all and all that, one huge thing that would help a lot is some sound deading in the front doors
Now with my impala it is not as muddy and can play lot more notes simultaneously but still nowhere near a good aftermarket system.

But if I want a good system i drive my bretta 3-way active
