Hey guys. I may be the owner of a 2007 G6 GTP Coupe in the next week. It has 33k miles and is priced at almost half of the value it should be. The problem is it was once a flood titled vehicle. The good news is I just test drove it today and is one of the nicest cars I have ever driven. The only signs of water damage I saw were under the dash the steering shaft had minor surface rust along with some brackets. The seat tracks had a tiny bit of surface rust and that was it. The exterior, interior, engine bay, everything was clean. I pulled up the carpet and it was perfect. No rust anywhere on the underside, exhaust or suspension. I checked every electrical component in the car and they all worked flawlessly.

Also, another good sign is that it happened with only 3k miles on the car. Since then there have been no other problems. Tomorrow I am getting the car looked at by a mechanic we know to make sure I didn't miss anything (I don't have a lift or the tools/knowledge to do a perfect inspection). If everything works out I should be the new owner .

The first question I have is what is the name of the color. It is a very bright vibrant blue. I would like to know the exact color name and the paint code. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the color is called "electric metallic blue" but sometimes I've seen it written "electric blue metallic" or in some other combination of the three words. I don't know about a color code though. That's the color of my car, as can be seen in my avatar and signature pics.

I think I've seen it called "Arrival blue metallic" also. I don't know how it has so many names. Confusing. I would have called it "metallic blue" or "bright metallic blue" but they didn't ask me.

Check the glovebox - the sticker with all the codes is there and the color code is on the bottom towards the left.

This is from my Grand Prix so it was in the trunk but you get the idea:

In this case the color was 214M. Here's the other thing to "watch out" for. If you look up 214M it would say "Bermuda Blue", which is the Chevrolet name. The Pontiac name was "Blue Green Crystal". So even when you find your color code you'll also have to find what Pontiac called it in order to be completely official

I would look up the code but I didn't buy the car yet lol. Im just being impatient, I'm so excited to get this car. Anyone have any pictures of the bright blue coupe with blacked out tails, tint, and black rims with a chrome lip? That's my plan for the car if I get it. Thank you.

Well you said your mechanic was looking at it tomorrow so I'm assuming you would be able to check the glovebox then - even if for whatever reason you're not there you could ask him to check for you

Added pictures of the car. Doesn't look flood damaged, that's for sure. First thing I will be doing is taking that stupid chrome molding on the doors off. It's not mine and I'm already mad that it scratched the inner door jamb from those stupid things >:[

Also, I didn't want the front plate but seeing as it was bolted into the car it would probably just have to stay

Coupes didnt have the chrome.....or are you talking about that added doorguarding???

That might be covering up chips in the edge. If so, you can get it in black.

Looks good. be wary...make sure they check it good.

Just an update, I gave the guy an offer, he semi-accepted it (will let me know for sure tomorrow morning) and talked to the bank about a loan. Everything is all set to go just have to finalize everything. Still hoping nothing goes bad though.

That sounds great! Hope you get it! I bought my GTP brand new in 06 and have almost 100k on it. It has the 3.9 w/ 6 speed manual trans. Your liscense plate on the front can be taken off easily and you can plug the wholes with some rubber gromets from auto zone or some other parts store, and you can paint them once you figure out what your color code is. Good Luck!

Sorry I missed that paint question before. If you give me the last 8 of the vin I can get you both the code and official color name.
