Why havent i seen a super g6 ( mechanical modifications)

I have been searching the internet for years now and i just haven't found a g6 with any hardcore modifications (supercharger, cams, headers, heads etc.). Im sure you G6ers know the wot-tech: http://wot-tech.com/shop/sort-by-eng...6/cat_131.html

They have a few performance parts for the LX9 engine, im specifically interested in the cams they have ( they even have cams suited for turbocharging. Dose anyone have and feed back on the site and can some one please send me a link to a super G6?

There's this about the Pontiac GXP.R Race Car: http://www.seriouswheels.com/cars/to...c-G6-GXP-R.htm

But there really hasn't been much done to really push the envelope in these cars. Have you checked out www.G6Performance.com? You're more likely to find info there about heavy performance mods.

I know that there just isn't much available for the 3.5, but there is some, as you found. I know I've read about some users who are running cams, so I'm sure you can find more info.

I have the 2.4 4cyl in my G6, and my plans include supercharging and getting a nice bit of power from it, nothing over the top though... after all it is front wheel drive, haha.

This^ Parts off a Cobalt SS/Ion Redline or if you want turbo you can swap the parts off of an SS/TC or a Saab 9-3

ZZPerformance also has kits and performance add-ons for that motor, But seeing as most G6s are V6s it's about mods for those motors. I haven't seen much, mainly cams and sometimes headers.

Thanks cruisinG6
Ive read about that car but the motor just made me loose interest ( not in production line). I just really love the g6, im sure allot is possible with the inline4 but its the v6s which interested in. Anything is possible with money, i just wish the rich guys had g6es. Ill be sure to check out the other site

GXP.R doesn't count. It was a factory made race car for Grand-Am. If I remember right it was a tube chassis with different suspension geometry and F-R layout. It was GMs answer to a lack of a Camaro for road racing.

Lima... where the men outnumber the women and the women outweigh the men.

Anyone know the top speed, hp, 0-60 and torque the WAMS tune makes (87, 89, 93 or any of the above?!)

Gee6er....me too! I know what you mean. I'm used the Grand Am community where people do engine swaps, forced induction, manual swaps, and all kinds of good stuff. G6 world is...ummm....less hardcore lol. I can't get over how much plastidip I see, and people thinks it's the sh*t... I owned a Getrag F40 trans before I ever bought the G6.

I don't think many people know that LS1 pistons will fit in the 3900 with less than .010 boring. We have 1.7 rockers already. The cam bearings can be custom ordered in "shimmed" size to fit a regular non-VVT 60* cam in the LZ block. This of course requires deleting the VVT function, but with the proven power gains from aftermarket cams, who cares about that cam phaser. IMO, it wouldn't be reliable under a high valvetrain load. I don't know that for sure but it seems to me...

And did you know Spec makes a clutch to fit the F40 with the L36/67 engines? Imagine a 3800SC G6 w/ 6-speed!

This might sound crazy, but you can get 1000 HP from that engine, without a turbo even. GMPerformance did it to a cavalier. Can't wait to see what you come up with! Idk where you are, but a shop known as Evan's Tuning right here in PA built a cavalier that hit 167 mph in the 1/4 mile. And that particular run, the engine blew way before the line so it should have hit like 180+

ZZP has my exact motor pushing 400 HP on e85 and a 2.2 ecotech pushing 898hp at 54psi.

My goal is a modest 250 because Its an automatic front wheel dive. I should see that with about 12psi. that much pressure on a Turbo would net me a bit more power. But eh

Yea I saw that posted on their site...must be a wicked car.

Manual conversion isn't as hard as you might think. Pretty sure that Getrag F35 is the designation of the Cobalt/Ion trans you would want. Your G6 has a weight advantage over mine too, btw. With quarter tank of fuel and otherwise empty car, mine weighs in at 3460 according to the scale at the scrap place I go sometimes. I don't like how heavy G6's are, but they are basically luxury cars, so pick one or the other

Yea it is a heavy car but its nicer than a Cobalt by a crap ton IMO. I've considered going to manual. I'm just curious as to what computer changes will need to be made. I'm sure the PCM can be tuned to not look for a transmission and the ABS probably doesn't need that info. A manual swap would be nice but I have no idea what the cost would be versus getting a built automatic. Still control in a manual is nice. And if I do change that I may change the forced induction plans too. If I had the money I'd do what SexyG6 is doing. Convert to RWD but keep the 4 Banger, mate it to a solstice trans and then try to build serious power, I'm talking internals and all at this point haha. Wishful thinking.
