iPod/iPhone integration with Bluetooth
I just had the iSimple Gateway iPod interface with the iSimple BluStream installed in my G6. I thought I'd give it a review since I couldn't find a whole lot of info. on it before I bought it. It connects directly to the XM ready factory stereo and allows you to control your iPhone or iPod using the radio controls. So far it has been working great and the sound quality is excellent. I bought this on ebay and had Best Buy install it for me. The ipod cable is in the glove box but it is pretty long so I can take it out and place my iphone on the passenger seat. I am going to attempt to run it to the center console once I figure out how since the cord is long enough. The bluetooth function is also working great and the sound quality is excellent, sounds just like if it was plugged in. Phone call quality is clear and have not had any problems with people being able to hear me or me hearing them. You can even use voice control on the iPhone by pressing preset 6 on the stereo, it will automatically mute the audio and then you can say "call so and so" or tell it to play music, artist, song, etc.. Pretty nice to be able to do all this through the stock radio. I am hoping this is a quality product and will hold up and not crap out on me. The microphone was installed on the headliner in the corner on the driver's side. Below are some pictures I took. Feel free to post any questions if you have one. I paid $175 on ebay for the Gateway, Bluestream and G6 harness bundle. One thing I should mention is this has to be controlled through the XM Band one the radio, once you get to XM you scroll through the diff. options such as iPod and BT and the BT only works when you are in one of these modes. Not a big deal for me.
