I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 with 31,xxx Miles on it. I have had the car for a year now, and bought it at 21,242 miles. Since ownership I've had a "clunk" noise as I turn right in the vehicle. Its nearly 50% of the time that I make a right turn. Recently however, I have been having very bad issues with the steering. In IDLE or while driving the steering wheel will vibrate rapidly, and while driving its like the wheel wants to lock in a certain way and if I need to straighten it out, its like I move past a certain point of resistance and it tries to automatically over compensate. Also sometimes, it will act up horribly, nearly pulling me into another lane while I am driving, and then I hear a loud Beep and my Display Counsel says Power Steering. This is not my video, but a video of an owner with the same issue as me.
Thats what I mean by the heavy vibrating. I have called GM to see if there is a replacement or recall for this, but my car does not qualify for a known steering column issue, I only have warrenty for the Power Train still. Also, if any one knows for sure what the problem is, and could tell me so I can tell a Garage what I need fixed that would be great, as it seems alot of people are just getting the run around.
I am a college student, and just found out that I will be laid off at the end of the week here, is there anything I can do to get this part replaced not at my cost... If any one could help me with any information, I would greatly appreciate it!
I just cant understand how this is not being recalled with all the owners and posters here alone, these are some additional Owners Complaints.
