Help!

I own a 2006 pontiac g6. It was a graduation present from my parents. Ive never really had any problems until recently. My car battery keeps dieing and the radio wil click, like the cd changer goes through the 6 cd spots and then my car shuts off. These past few days, when i go to stick my key in the door to unlock it, my car alarm goes off twice. then stops. Ive never had this happen to me until two days ago. and now my door ajar keeps showing up on my radio, even though i got out and shut all doors including the trunk, hood, and gas lid. Still the light stays on, which keeps my light on saying there is a door open, thus killing my battery again. I love my car and i just dont know what to do. Im 2 hours away from home and at college, and these problems im having with my car is killing me...Does anyone have any idea whats going on??

What happened first? Dead Battery or door ajar/alarm issues?
I'm with Lampoon, get the battery checked before dropping any money into it.

door ajar/alarm issues were first. what caused my car to die was the light staying on from my "door being ajar"

It sounds like a door switch, And I believe it is integrated into the door latch. So it's not only a more expensive part ~$100 and is a little more involved to replace, but not too bad.

I found this thread on G6P:
http://www.g6performance.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=16461
Turned out to be a stuck switch.

And this on G6OC:

I checked on my car, can't find the button, maybe it's different on the two door models?
