I'm not familiar with a concept body kit but you can certainly do the GXP kit. I also have a base sedan and did the GXP bumpers and hood. The swap is not cheap though. Your best bet would be search the internet resale sites: eBay, craigslist, car-part, etc. You can buy it retail at any GM dealership or GMpartsdirect but you will have to buy each and every compenant seperately and it adds up to like over $2000 just for the front bumper. If you can find it resale you'd likely get everything already assembled at a fraction of the price.

That looks like the AIT body kit. Are you talking about the orange car?

If you're talking about this kit...

...then no dice, this was a one off Roush kit that looks awesome but is only on that one G6. It was auctioned off back in 2005 or 2006 for around $15k I think.

There's the AIT body kit:

This is 08GTCOUPE's G6. Very nice if I do say so myself.
Made from fiberglass, so gotta be careful with this one.

And then there's this lip kit kind of deal:

It's like a front lip, side skirts, and rear bumper lip. Made from some duraflex crap or something, Shouldn't shatter on impact.

There's also a GM Ground effects package that adds a little touch to the front with a lip, and adds side skirts. I believe a user is selling a set right now in fact.

thanks for all the info, now if i got the body parts i want on resale, should i take it to gm to get everything painted and installed? I dont have the 1st clue how to install the body parts and it would be something i would watch done and try to get a grasp on it, but if i did it myself, i would probably mess something up.

I would just take it to your local body shop and get a quote before you even buy the parts. You never know how much you are getting yourself into. Paint and labor is really expensive these days

I haven't really looked into body kits too much, as I was considering to get the GXP kit. I know the paint and labor on just the front bumper and hood was going to be $1,100 (screw that for now)

Here is what AIT makes for the 4 door:

Duraflex:

They look basically the same. I think the only difference is the material? But what the hell do I know lol

Yea. The ones I posted they make for the coupe and sedan. I don't think there's really any brands to stay away from. Its just all based on the look you want and/or what material you prefer.

Also check with any performance/speed shop around you. Many of them will install the kit at a better price, and they could have connections for getting it painted.

To paint and install the entire GXP kit (front bumper, side skirts & rear bumper) you should be looking at no more than $1200. Pricing is always negotiable. The good thing about going with the GXP is the fact that it is a factory option and therefor there shouldn't be any modification required to install it. When you're dealing with fiberglass or duraflex stuff it doesn't always fit without some sort of adjustment or trimming, so they tend to charge a little bit more.

Just to explain... I work in a dealership bodyshop and price this stuff all the time.

Another question, coming at you guys, as i learn more about my engine, i also get more and more questions. I was looking at a WAMS Tune, and it looks exactly like the piece in the front right part of my engine. is that piece standard in all g6's, or do i need to take that out and send it to them to program it?

It is the same piece. That's the PCM, controls everything the engine does. This has to be programmed for your VIN, you can buy a new PCM/TCM from WAMS and just swap them, or you can take yours out, send it out to get programmed, and just install it when done. That module is standard in all G6s, but they differ slightly depending on what engine is in the car, for instance I have the 2.4, So I have a separate PCM and TCM, If someone takes it and programs their VIN into it, it'll work for their 2.4, but it won't work for any V6. They use a different module all together.

As for the AIT bumper and speed bumps, it's hard to say. Are you lowered at all or still at stock ride height? At stock you may be alright, but it would be a good idea to hit speed bumps at an angle to prevent damage. The AIT bumper is made from fiberglass and therefore doesn't really flex at all, so it's easy to destroy.
