From everything I've been reading online I now know that although I have the 3.5 L v6 engine I do not have the one with a hydraulic power steering but instead have the electronic system... so everything going on with the power steering leads to the torque sensor being faulty ... can someone tell me if I were to go to pick n pull and get a torque sensor have my very mechanically inclined best friend switch it out would I still have to then take it to GM to have it calibrated or would I not ?

Sorry but yes. Unless you have a scanner with the ability to calibrate the center of course. Electronic and electric devices are cheap to manufacture. Mechanical and hydraulic devices are expensive to manufacture.

Do you think it's the power steering assist module that needs replaced or the torque sensor .. I've been doing quite a bit of research and it seems like it would be the assist module but I'm not trained and really k
