This is surely a bitch of a problem! I still think its a tire with an inverted egg.

A 1995 Grand AM I had did this. I drove it around town mostly but one day I was going to drive to Mississippi, from Baton Rouge, and I decided to check the air pressure. The tire psi was low (25psi) so I added till it was 36psi. Wobble wobble wobble! Mainly at certain speeds so I took it to a shop and blah blah blah the mechanic said its a tire. I didn't see anything but sure enough once the tire was removed there it was, inverted egg.The tires had some wear so I replaced them all. End of that PITA.

I didn't feel anything in the steering at all, I thought it had something to do with the suspension. I remember when I would have my dad with me in it and it would be fine and then it would start up again like you said when you took those technicians for a ride. It wobbled off and on every time I drove it and sometimes made a strange clanking or grinding sound.

Really? Wobbled going down the road, then smooth another trip, then shaking and wobbling again? Did you feel it specifically in the steering? I actually feel nothing in the steering whatsoever, but the car itself wobbles overall.

Anything new?

weird I read this today after taking mine for a test drive yesterday.... I found when I experienced this wobble you spoke about it also seemed to pull to the right (may be unrelated) NOTE it has a chewed up rear tire heavy grooves from being towed incorrectly which is being replaced monday morning. This could have been the cause. I will know more tomorrow and keep my eye on this post. PS lol the roads here BLOW.
