Working on a friend's 2008 G6 with the 2.4L engine. Original project was to replace the knock sensor, but bolt was too rusted to get out so put everything back together for now. Starter was removed during that process and negative battery terminal was disconnected.
Now when key is turned on, dash shows "Error" and scanner gets a U0101 (Loss of communications with TCM) and sometimes P1682 (Ignition 1, circuit 2). These both seem to indicate loss of electrical power somewhere, looking for suggestions on how to break down system and find the loss. All fuses check good, TCM connector reseated, all other connectors wiggled and checked for solid insertion.
