Same engine bay so I would assume that it could be done. That quaint old 3.5 is quite a bit heavier than the 2.4 engine so I'm pretty sure there will need to be suspension modifications needed.
2.4 ectotec to a 3.5 2009 G6 ( can it ne done)
I have a 09 g6 base 2.4 ecotec. I seriously wanting to install the 3.5 in it. I have a few online waiting for me to buy, everything at first glance looks like a go. Any known issues I will run into. The 09 is immaculate. Thanks in advance.

Both engines are 2009. I was mainly concerned with the computers working with each other, the transmission is the 4 speed auto im assuming it will bolt up.
The 4 cyl and V6 use different transmissions and I don't know if the 4 cyl will bolt onto the v6. Even if it does, I don't know if it will hold up. You'll also need the ECM, BCM and wiring harnesses, all engine mounts and the cooling system and AC components may not be compatible between the two engines. Swaps like these since the 90's are always tough and it helps if you have the donor car so you'll have all the parts you need . It can be done but it will be considerable work. Good luck. Mark

Man thats opening a next level type of headache. The 2.4s come with a 6 speed, so im pretty sure it wont even bolt up. You would be better off selling and buying the model you want. I'm all for making mods and making things work, but that would be what I say, too much sugar for a dime !
