I'm Fairly certain the 2.4L l4 in the g6 is the same as the one in the Soltice...I found a turbo kit that works for the 2.4L Can the engine that they put in the g6 handle a turbo without much work needed to the internals?

Just curious. Can I just through a turbo on, increase power, and not blow my engine?

The engine isn't what the weak point is, it's the tranny, also not having space in the engine bay, also that noone else has done a turbo that has been proven to work, etc. etc.

bainecotec on G6Performance.com that did a custom set up on his ecotec. Because the tranny is the essentialy the same as the v6 (gear ratios a little different) the torque/hp gains wouldn't be as damaging as if the gains were made on the v6s. However Bain is shooting for 275whp, so he will need to beef up the tranny.

That said, if you are shooting for big gains, the price is going to be very high, and would be more cost effective to go with a G8 or other performance car.

As far as the solstice turbo kit working on the G6, I am unfamiliar with the engine codes, but my assumption, (for what it's worth) is no, because Solstice is RWD which would leave me to believe the heads and such are slightly different. But I don't know anything.

Bain stated that his custom setup ran around 2500-3k for the motor work and ecm tuning.

hey thanks, I was just curious, If i really want power in a G6 then i might as well just get a v6. But i've already decided, my next car will be a V8. No if's and's or buts. im doin it.

Yes ZZ performance has the whole kit, drop 2500 in the trans + 500$ for the axles, and your good to go unless you want to do the rebuild yourself.......

Really?! Is that just for the 2.4 trans, or is it for all the g6 trans.

Depending on what I decide i want to do to this thing, I might look into this further.

I know for the 04+ Grand Prix Intense was the place to go to grenade your engine ; I think they did better for the 97-03 community. And I never dealt with ZZP but have heard generally good things about them, Grand Prix-wise.

Can't vouch for anyone's G6 stuff tho

ok.... if i could do it all over again i would buy the 2.4 G6 because then you can do the LSJ Supercharger Swap. It is SUPER COMMON on the Cobalt, Ion and G5 Boards. it would cost about 1500-2000 to get the parts and they are BOLT ON. also becuase teh 2.4 is tunable with HP Tuners you will be KILLIN IT!!!

srsly. no sarcasam here. if you want boost and you have the 2.4 LE5 you can do a SC swap.

Just Youtube LE5 Supercharged or 2.4 supercharged
