This has happened twice now in about 2 weeks. I was driving and for no reason the car looses all power and coasts to a stop. It will not crank at all, no lights like a dead battery. Pushed to a level area, added gas and after about 30 minutes tried it one more time and it started and drove. It happened another time, stopped in a store, came out and it did the same thing. Acted dead, couldn't jump it, after you wait a while and come back to try it again, it works.
Any ideas?

Do you have the Monsoon system? Could be a bad amplifier. A friend of mine had a Monte Carlo that did the same thing and it turned out to be a bad amplifier that wouldn't turn off. if he waited a while, he would be able to start it again. Its something to look into.

I think checkers does free battery and alternator checks. Could look into those, too. Let me know if you find anything out.

Its your starter power or ground wire is loose.

Check the ground cable connection. exact same thing happened to me.

When your engine starts to torque from hitting the gas, it looses conection.

Can you drive in reverse fine?

had similar problems...clicking on startup and sometimes not starting at all...engine power reduced a couple of times...took it in for diagnostic and it turns out the alternator is dunzo! 59k on my 07 G6
