I have a 6 disc cd changer.. For some reason it will not load a cd and all slots are empty. When it ejects the cd it tries to load it again by its self. When I do finally get the disc out it will say "remove disc 0" and will beep constantly. like it does when the cd is loaded. also as you may know when you turn the key off the stereo stays on until you open the door. well when i try to use the cd player it will beep and the stereo will not go off even when i open the door and take the key out. Please help

I did not mean to imply that you are stupid.

I apologise for that but now I dont want to offend further so I
will not longer post in this thread.

I wish you luck.

Some people forget that these forums are for fellowship and that
this is not the Pontiac G6 service department.

Lighten up dude. There are many people who think that there may be a quick fix
for an issue but they ARE under warranty.

Im guessing Pooners was implying that it is not an end user fixable issue.

If I was you I would unplug the battery for a good 15 minutes and let everything reboot.
If the problem persists then you need another stereo. The big issue is Pontiac married the DIC into the stereo so if you want to keep that feature you need to find another one like yours. Since these stereos are locked to your vin you will need some time on a dealership Tech2 laptop. That will cost you.

I read where Pooners had the same issue but I think he upgraded to an 08 radio with the aux (for ipods and such). Hey Poon.....did you keep the changer or go for the single CD?

Also how much did it cost you?

Dammit Vader.....I feel the force compelling me to answer (help me Jedi!!).
Prolly cause you are so much more eloguent than I am. lol

I opted for the single CD 2008 Monsoon. Three reasons:
1. keep my computer (DIC).
2. get rid of the changer since that seems to go out on all of them and I didnt want to have to replace it again in a year.
3. and I wanted the aux so I could play my ipod.

Cost me $256 shipped brand new. Time on the Tech2 ran me $80 but after that I found out that the other Pontiac dealership would have done it for half that so shop around on Tech2 fees.

find a take out on eBay or a local yard and swap it out.
Its not hard to do and there are even directions posted on the net
on how to remove it.

Then go by your dealership and have them program it.

Hopefully the one you get doesnt have any "issues".

You can order them brand new too but dont go to a dealership for that
or they will assault your college fund, savings account and tax refund.

there are other places online for that if that is the route you want to go.

If you dont care about the computer (display miles left, when to change oil etc) then
just go to a stereo shop and say "FIX ME UP". Then you can give them your college fund, savings account and tax refund.
