2006 GTP Coupe

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. Tomorrow at 5pm I take possession of my 2006 GTP coupe in black, fully loaded, 35K on the clock and a warranty until around 100K. I insisted on a pristine body and interior and that the tires be brand new. I test drove the car and fell absolutely in love so tomorrow she'll be all done and come home with me (unless I can't find a ride to the dealership).

Anyway...first mod planned is the iPod addon cable and maybe a spoiler.

you do know its not just as simple as one cable since its not a 08 for the iPod. But anyhow nice find and welcome! does it have the f40 or the 4spd?
4 speed auto. I'm looking at the add-on kit which should only require radio removal.

Last car was a Dodge Intrepid that I converted to a 3.5HO from the 2.7L grenade which got stolen. I also own a 1999 Convertible Z28 and a 1997 Chevrolet Z71.

I've done a bit of homework on this car, so I'm well aware of what is required to run the iPod. Unfortunately they do not offer the newer cable to run/charge the iPhone, otherwise I'd have me some Pandora radio for the morning commute. How awesome would that be?

I guess I could also mention that I'm a professional detailer, though I no longer do so for money (unless the person is really nice and pays a whole lot). I have a Makita rotary, PC, Century 400 carpet extractor, and so many chemicals and microfibers I can't count them any longer. 99% of my supplies can't be found in a store with my carpet cleaning chemicals being unmatched by anything over the counter (I use the stuff that pros use to restore fire/flood/etc. homes and autos). When I get a warm day...this black GTP will be a mirror. I can't wait!

If anyone is around St. Louis and would like to learn about detailing (rotary, PC, extractors, etc.) I will be replenishing my stock this spring and am always open to questions. I recently helped a friend whose wife left a full bottle of wine under the seat and it burst in the bitter cold and cleaned carpets, couch, and rugs for my sister, so my supply is a bit low.

I got a real nice belkin fm tranmitter tune and play thing for my iPhone it isn't clumsy or anything, it charges the iphone and has an autoscan feature that'll find the best station to transmit on if you don't know already, with built in audio boosters that really work. And best of all I've played pandora through the phone through the trasmitter to my car, and besides the occasional sputter with the cell connection, it worked great... I'd just recommend getting one of these cause its is a lot less of a hassle than what it sounds like you wanna do...or you could get an 08 stereo with an aux.......
I nearly forgot...the G6 had what looked like a BB gun dent in the side (which I insisted be repaired) and the salesman jokingly gave it the name Dinghy. The name stuck!
That you will find, to your dismay, to be a very appropriate name.
As people in all parking lots will do that to your car.
Ive fixed 2 so far and got a third a few weeks back. ugh
I'm always paranoid about that. One good thing about having fiberglass panels on my convertible, I suppose. This car has the optional parking strips, though...so I'm hoping that will save me at least a tiny bit of grief.

I have it! It's looks AMAZING!

I also have found out that I don't have to add the iPod kit just yet...I have satellite radio already installed...also my computer crashed and I lost all of my music! Thankfully I have it backed up on my sister's computer...but until I get around to getting my music back or the company that makes the iPod kit gets around to selling the iPhone 3G cable (Pandora radio app!), I think $10 a month for a decent radio station or 50 isn't too much.

At the moment I'm kicking around a few different add-ons I may want to purchase...but I can't decide which one to go with first.

Edit: Btw, satellite radio is awesome. Got her up and activated...was jamming out on my lunch to some 80's then switched over to the big hair bands channel to headbang a bit. Now I will be able to commute without having to hear a bunch of self-absorbed pinheads puking into a microphone every morning.
