Hello out there. I'm thinking about buying a Magnaflow (part no. 16760) catback single exhaust for my 2008 G6 GT. I had a couple of questions if anyone has purchased and installed this exhaust on their G6.

Would it void any warranties?

Can you really tell the difference in the upgrade?

Is it worth the money (I saw it for roughly $550 online +250 installation from my dealer)

Would anyone suggest any other upgrade to add some horsepower besides the Magnaflow exhaust?

Thank you in advance if anyone has any advice! I appreciate it!

Dont know if it would void certain warranties. If it didnt have nothing to do with the exhaust then no.

It does not give you a ridicolous amount of HP if your looking for 50+ you prob wont get it but it does give you a gain of about 10%.

Def worth the money! Looks and sounds really good!

Other mods that you could get is
1. Crabs or K&N CAI (Cold Air Intake)
2. A tune Vectors Motorsports or WAMS
3. Get someone to mess with your heads

Thats just a couple that if you had all three or four that you would def wake your car up with.

Look at Classic Performance GT-R exhaust. Its bolt on. You can do it yourself.
Also has dual outs and the muffler is tuned to our cars. Sounds awesome!

Exhaust

Thanks for the info Lampoon and Justin. I was wondering if you guys knew about the Magnaflow 16760 and what years it will fit. I have seen several websites selling it and marketing it as available for G6 models 2005-2008 and some from 2005-2007. I contacted Magnaflow and the guy told me that they are making a model for the 2008 and it's not yet for sale. I contacted GM and their catback exhaust that they sell is the same model number for both the 2007 and 2008. Mine is a 2008 and I don't want to order the 16760 from Magnaflow and it not fit. Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked out the GT-R exhaust but I only have a single exhaust outlet, not a dual exhaust....this is starting to frustrate me! Any other recommendations for an exhaust thats doable for a single exhaust?

You're talking about the single exhaust outlet in the bumper, right? If that is it then there is a pretty simple solution. All you need to do is either buy the GTP/GXP lower bumper valence (where your black plastic lower bumper is) from GM or if you wanna do it on the cheap just template out what size hole you want and cut it out of the existing bumper.

Thanks again for the info RedRocket and Lampoon. I called GM today asking about the lower bumper valence and the guy from GM told me I would need to buy the entire bumper which would be unpainted! I mentioned the lower bumper valence and he asked me to ask you guys if any of you have actually ordered just the lower black piece and if you did, would you have the part number? He said GMs parts catalog was a mess (makes me feel good ordering something from them haha) and that if he had a vin number of a G6 that came with the dual exhaust already, he could find the part number that way. Any other advice anyone can give me?! I appreciate all the replies so thanks a lot guys! I hope to get this thing done and have my ride look as sharp as all of yours! That dual exhaust is HOT!

Hey Johnny, i would suggest doing what red rocket suggested! just getting the lower valence for the gtp or gxp. if you really want the magnaflow, then i would wait until you can find more info on it. :) theres no point getting something you dont want, right?

you could email magnaflow and ask them if it fits. [email protected] is the one you want to talk to. Should not take long at all to get back to you

Lampoon where did you get your dual exhaust gray valence under your bumper?!?!?!?! I called my dealer and GM directly and they both are telling me I need an entire new bumper! I don't think they know what they are talking about!

Lampoon you are the man! My G6 is a 2008, 4 door GT sedan so I should order the 2006-2008 GTP sedan lower bumper cover then? Thanks again for the info, I can't wait to get this thing finally ordered and installed along with the GT-R exhaust!

It's definitely going to be sweet...Classic Perfomance told me there's a 2-3 week waiting period right now for the GT-R exhaust though, I can't wait to get that thing installed!

Lampoon said the lower valence has some bolts and clips as well. I'm ordering both the valence and my exhaust tomorrow and then the waiting begins haha. I can't wait to get this bad boy installed...going to be great. I'll get some pics posted when it's finished and try to get a video of it all too. Thanks to all of you who have helped me find the parts I needed, you guys are great!
