Hello everyone, 04-03-2019
I just picked up a great condition 2008 G6 GXP with low miles for 7 bills, knowing it needs a new engine, which still runs and drives but its knocking and a bit of random metal screaching :) . It has the 3.6L engine and I was able to locate a 2008 G8 3.6L engine with only 24k miles on it that was wrecked locally. I know the manifolds are different, hopefully bolt patterns the same but if I do a swap will the rest fit and holds line up to the transmission, bell housing, etc.. Trying to figure out which 3.6L will work with the least amount of work or parts needed. From what I have read the 3.6L engine is used in alot of vehicles, but I want to keep it simple, use the same harness, ecu, bolts, alternator, etc..

Thank you for any advice and help!
