I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 four door sports sedan and I have a problem with the air filter. I successfully changed it, but when putting the screws back on, I dropped one and it got lost. I checked everywhere and could not find the screw, and now I only have 2 out of the 3 screws which secure the air filter. I checked for a replacement screw at both the local Pontiac dealership and they didn't have one (they said I would need to order another air filter if I wanted the screw) and I checked at Home Depot but they didn't have the screw either. I'm at a loss as to what to do, any suggestions?

Goto ebay, send a message to one of the sellers who is selling parts off a junked G6 and tell em you'll pay shipping and so & so price. They are willing to do it since its small, easy and quick money.

You can try craigslist for the same.

what engine do you have? isnt the screw to hold the cover on? why would you have to order a new air filter for a screw?

Thanks saberz and waterfowler76 for the reply. Yes, the screws are to hold the cover on, but the pontiac dealership said that they don't have spares and I would need to buy the whole air filter component just for the screws. Also, I just got done searching on craigslist and ebay, but was unsuccessful. Could anyone please post a link?

You could always go and test drive another G6 and "borrow" a screw from that car.
Just a suggestion.

I suggest that you should purchase a new filter. It is hard to find screw for the air filter.
