is it necessary to have a functioning key fob to start the car. I have checked all the fuses, mini relays, etc. Still can't start the car. I need help!:|

Pretty sure you that you don't need one. but the key you have needs to be the proper one. And it likely has a chip in it that needs to match the car.

Fob doesn't matter.
Correct transponder key, and car programmed to recognize it are necessary.
Key may turn in cylinder, but without programming, worthless.
Without a recognized key, it's a tow to a shop to get programming done, unless you can find a mobile to do it.
Programming is usually a charge per session, so I recommend to get 2 or more done at a time. Keys not on hand at time of programming become unrecognized and are erased from vehicle.
