I have a 2009 G6 GT with 54,000 miles. Whenever I'm driving at slow speeds like around a parking lot, whenever I turn the steering wheel left or right it makes a squeaking noise or like something is rubbing up against something.

Are you talking about turning the wheel to the extreme hard-over positions? In that case it's pretty normal in a hydraulic system to squeal a bit. Do you have electric or hydraulic power assisted steering?

I honestly have no idea which one it is. What I think your talking about is something different than what I mentioned. But I forgot it does make a high pitch squeal every now and then when I reverse out of a parking spot or driveway. The sound I was wondering about sounds like its in the actual steering wheel. It's not very loud sort of sounds like rubber rubbing up against rubber. If that makes any sense.

I was reading another post someone had wrote that sounded similar and they said when they took it is the deal said it was a bushing in the steering column.
