Hello ladies & gentlemen I have a 2009 g6 that a while ago just stopped cranking won't run. Isn't the battery as I replaced it and I have power to the dash and windows. Had a mechanic come look at it and he jumped the starter and had it running for about 2 seconds or so before it stopped. He thought it was a security problem so I eventually towed it to the dealer. Turns out it was and the theft module went bad which was stopping it from running. Well instead of paying the $600 to the dealer. A friend recommended me to this site newrockies.com which sells a bypass unit that would eliminate the security. Installed it and everything fine but the next step is to do a relearn. The problem with that is it's like the car wont go through the relearn process. Turn the key to on and then try to crank and then release it back to on and the security should stay on for 10 minutes you wait and then cut off for 5 seconds and you repeat the steps 3x. My problem is the security light goes off maybe a second after I release the key. Could I be doing something wrong? Is that not the reset procedure for a 2009 g6? Don't want to send it back to the dealer but it seems I may have to .
