Just purchased a new 2009.5 G6 at the end of last year during the Pontiac fire sale. Love the car, but just came across an issue with the cluster.

I had just parked the car and turned off the ignition and opened the door and saw the odometer show up at 991 miles. I thought, whew, getting close to 1000 here! Got home and shut off the car, and the odometer showed up again and it showed 991. I knew I had driven at least several miles, so something was up. We always leave the DIC set to average fuel economy, so the odometer only shows up after turning off the car and opening the driver's door. For some reason, this number was not updating. I think it updates after you cycle through and show the odometer, which when I cycled through was at 1030. Anybody else seen this issue in their G6?

I have no problems with mine.

I did thought I had a problem last year when I took it on a trip to the States. I keep track of my mileage & fuel economy. After I returned across the border, came home, and parked the car. I filled it up the following morning and felt like a bit of an idiot, only to realize that I had not set the display back to KM, it was still in miles.

2010 G6 Odometer Issue

Yes, I had something similar just happen yesterday, which prompted me to see if anyone else experienced something like this. I just bought a Pontiac G6 GT 2010 about 1 month ago with exactly 9K miles on the odometer. My commute is about 30 miles one way. Yesterday morning, when I parked the car, I noticed my odometer read exactly 10,600 and thought, wow, 10,600 already - interestingly, it's an even 10,600. I remember I had left the DIC set to average fuel economy. Then after work, I started the car, and the odometer still read 10,600. I drove about 3 miles towards home, and while at a stop light, I was cycling through the "info" button, and my odometer "jumped" to 10,640. There is no way I drove 40 miles. Has anyone experienced something like this? I have no idea how to reproduce it but I will try. Thanks!

I hate to bring up this old thread, but I'm having the same issue with my odometer. I took the car to gm, and they are blaming my aftermarket remote starter. Can you guys having the same issue confirm whether there are any aftermarket parts installed in your car when u have the issue? I hope you can let me know as dealer won't troubleshoot if I don't have it removed from the car...
