I personally would recommend disconnecting the battery for ten minutes first before doing anything involving airbags. I have launched many old ones at a theft repair shop I worked at before. They have a pretty much blank 12 gauge shotgun shell for a charge that deploys the airbag. If you pull on the wrong wire accidently you can get seriously injured not to mention you can't buy air bags from the junkyard like CATS, that's against Federal law, so you will be buying a nice new super expensive airbag. Probably a windshield as well. Best just to avoid all that.
