I bought a pair of 3157 LED tail lamps a couple months ago and they were pretty crappy. They were dim amd didnt get much brighter when I hit the brakes. About half the LED's started flickering right after I put them in.

So I ordered a pair of spider LED's that expand once you lock them in, they have front and rear LED's and are pretty unique. I just wanted to show a couple pics because these things are bright as hell just witht the parrking lights on, they get three times brighter with the brakes or turn signals on.

I posted a couple of pics if you guys want to see what they look like. They were $29 for the pair with free shipping from eBay. I had someone ask about them already and they've been in for one day.

I just put a bid on some. Thanks. How long did it take to ship them from Hong Kong?
They arrived while I was in Vegas so I figured about 10-11 days total. The auction read up to two weeks for delivery, so they shipped faster then I thought they would.

When you put them in, they may not light up because the LED's are dioded, just flip them 180 degrees in the socket so the polarity is correct. I plugged the first one in and turned on the parking lights.......nothing. Just be sure to test them before you slide the socket back in the light housing because they are a bit snug to get in and out and if the bulb goes in by itself, it will be a bitch to get back out.

Take some pics and post them if you can.

There is a 3 spoke version as well, but they were a lot more money for some reason.
These LEDs are designed to work on a 12V circuit? Or is there a stepdown kit that goes with it?
Hmm they look awesome in my mind, I may pick up a pair :)

UPDATE: Ordered
ordered, but got mine for 25 bucks.... :D .
cant wait till they get here ha
HOLY crap that makes the car stand out! I'm going to have to buy me a pair.

Before I do.. is there any kit that goes with it or just like a plug and go type thing?

They make a 3rd brake light led?
These bulbs are standard 12 volt and have the same base as a standard 3157, but you will see a much faster blink when you put them in. You have to put a bigger load on the brake light wires for them to blink at the normal rate, but it's super easy to do.

Get a pair of 8 Ohm ceramic resistors (the white block style) from Radio shack and wire them across the turn signal +12v and ground on each side. I forgot to mention this because I had put them in for the forst set of LED bulbs I ordered.

I'll post a pic of the correct ones tomorrow and make a quick diagram of how to wire them in.

I was going to wait the auction out to save the money but I'm extremely impatient when it comes to getting things I want, so I used the buy it now.
^^Same here
Looks really Good I'm an LED freak whole car is led except front amber. I want these for them but i don't think this style will fit.

Ever got around to getting that pic done up? Would be helpful to us who are gonna go do the same thing :D
eh, I dont need it. Im not too concerned with blinking rate... lol

x2!!!!
What kind of blinking rate are we talking here haha like strobe light without it??
Its probably like when you have a signal bulb out. But a strobe signal would be funny!!!
LOL give people seizures
The blink rate is closer to 3X witout the resistors. Here is a quick diagram, I told you there is nothing to it, just tape up all the exposed wire from the resistors, or you can use heat shrink on them and leave about a half inch of the wore esposed in either end before you solder them on.

I do recommend solder as opposed to twist and tape.

I have to double check the wire colors, I remember purple being the turn signal wire color, if I'm wrong, I'll change the diagram.

Awesome thanks!
