The blink rate is closer to 3X witout the resistors. Here is a quick diagram, I told you there is nothing to it, just tape up all the exposed wire from the resistors, or you can use heat shrink on them and leave about a half inch of the wore esposed in either end before you solder them on.

I do recommend solder as opposed to twist and tape.

I have to double check the wire colors, I remember purple being the turn signal wire color, if I'm wrong, I'll change the diagram.

Not quite correct. The brake and turn signal use the same bulb filament. The other filament is for the running lights. You want the load resistor on the brake/turn signal wire, between that connection and ground.

Anyone looking for resistor's, found a link here with looks like quality resistors and everything you need for less then 10 bucks with free shipping
That actually is a pretty good price, depending on the quality of the resistors. Pay heed to the warning about them getting hot, they will emit about 25 Watts of heat, which is a hell of a lot! They will very quickly melt anything plastic that they touch. The best thing you could do would be to bolt/screw them to some metal on the car to help dissipate the heat.

Also note that the diagram shown for connection to a two-filament bulb (three-wire) is wrong; you want the load on the Brake/Turn wire to prevent the fast flash / bulb warning / etc.

I changed the diagram to the correct wire, they dont get all that hot unless you are on your brakes for five minutes straight. Mine are tucked down underneath the light where air circulates under the bumper.

Got mine installed today, bright with running lights on and don't have that much of a super fast flash when the car is running, But I find they don't get that much brighter with the brake lights on.... My tails are tinted some but I find they should be brighter with the brakes on.
