Though I am sure most of you have read the same articles, the census among most car magazines is that the F40 transmission is not a good one. I believe it was Motortrend who said it best when reffering to it as "primative".
I am having the same problems as everyone else and getting the same response from the dealerships...."it supposed to be like that, there is nothing wrong with it".
I pursued the "transmission exchage" listed above. You will have to bend over backwards while jumping through hoops to make that happen. Oh and you'll be without a car for a few weeks while GM engineers "fiddle" with your tranny.
Suffice it to say, that we have a great car with a not-so-great transmission.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.
