Looking for any insight on A/C issues and resolution you may have experienced. Have 50k miles on my '05 G6. Last week I noticed that there was no cool air blowing out. Checked fuses and signs of any obvious leaks. Nothing. Dropped the car off at the local shop to have them take a peak and their diagnosis was as follows:

A/C FOUND HIGH AND LOW SIDE PRESSURES OUT OF SPEC, WE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE EXPANSION VALVE AND DRIER (assuming dryer) TO DIAGNOSE FURTHER.

Before I spend money on shop work, has anyone experienced the same symptom? If so, what was the cause and what was done to remedy the problem?

Thanks!

Being that is is now almost 10 years old, I would suspect that the drier and expansion valve need to be replaced. I would think there is also a leak associated with that somewhere along the plumbing....causing the "pressures" to be out of spec. Could have a bad compressor too.

By the time I nickle and dime'd my repairs on the A/C in my truck....I ended replacing everything! But it is nice and cold now.

Are you attempting the repairs yourself, or are you going to have the shop do it?
