abs and traction control light

Hello everybody my name is Fiore and i own a 07 g6 gt coupe with about 4700 miles when i start my car its fine when i get about a half a mile down the road the abs and traction control light kick on aand i get a buzzing sound and the display lights stay on and i have no abs or traction control. Has anybody experienced this before?

Time for a Service Check

If you have not already done so, I strongly recommend that you take your car back to the Dealership and have them check this out. The ABS and Traction control are complex systems and should be diagnosed by certified technicians. Oh, by the way....check your owners manual for information regarding "Courtesy Transportation", they should be able to provide you a loaner vehicle or provide other arrangements so you're not stranded without a vehicle while they are working on yours............

The traction control warning light and the engine warning light came on yesterday on my '06 GTP. The car has 56,000 on it. When these came on, the auto trans started banging really hard on upshifts and down shifts, so I'm guessing that there is a problem with the computer, as I believe most of the shift functions are controlled by the computer nowadays. Good thing I bought the extended warranty. This car has been one of the most fun cars I've ever owned, but also the most troublesome. Several oxygen sensors, a steering rack, and intermediate shaft, a leaking sunroof, a bad XM radio, and now this. Hopefully it's something simple.

Update....I took the car into the local dealer on Sat to have it looked at. The remote start also wasn't working, but the girl at the service desk said whenever the engine check lite is on, the remote start is disabled. So much for that issue. Once they had a chance to look at it, she called to say that somehow, some wiring broke loose around the front of the engine, and they think it shorted out when it contacted the fan assmby, and caused the problems.
The worst part is that she said my extended warranty, which runs to 80,000 ( my car has about 55,000 now ), may not cover these repairs. I would think that if a bracket or wiring holder failed and allowed the wiring to drop down, then the bracket or clip should be a warranty item, and all damage caused by the failure downstream should also be covered. Has anyone had any experience with an item that failed and wasn't covered ? Is it worth calling Pontiac direct if they won't pay for it ? They still have the car and won't know more until Monday.
Meanwhile I'm paying for a rental car. And to make my day worse, on Friday, my wife hit a pothole and caused the right front hub on our 2004 Aztek to go out of square, which had to be replaced on Sat. Those aren't cheap...400$ out of pocket cause this one has 120,000 on it. Oh well.

Well, the car is fixed. Somehow, someway, a wiring harness clip broke behind the belt tensioner area and allowed a wiring harness to come in contact with the spinning pulley. It then caused grief in the computer, hence the warning lites and poor shifting of the auto trans. The extended warranty did cover the repairs, so other than 3 days of a rental car, things are back to normal.

Sheild computer cable

One thing I know for sure is that the CAT5 computer cable needs to be sheilded; the stock cable is not. Electronics stores sell a braided sheilding that can be slid over the cable as a sleeve. Signals from other wires can interfere with computer data if this is not done.

I have an 06 g6 gtp with 120,000 miles and the abs, traction control, and a "swerving car with a line through it?". Took to a mechanic and he put it on an abs machine. He said it was the front abs sensor and to replace the hub assembly. I could not ember what side he told me so I purchased a new hub and simply unplugged the sensor and plugged in the new one and the light remained on so I did the same thing to the other side still nothing. After inspecting the pig tail I found 2 splices in the cable. I checked continuity at the splice and it did not ring out. I re-spliced the cable and now I'm getting continuity from both end of the cable but the lights remain on. I've checked fuses and all are good. Please help! Thanks
