Ok so I have decided to add some subs to my car I am going with 2 10 inch JL subs rated at 600watt rms and 1200 peak each link and this amp rated at 500watts rms ...I have a few questions regarding this setup.....first would cranking this amp all the way up be able to blow these subs? Second I want to install a remote control switch to adjust the sub level from the drivers seat so I am going with this one First question is that since on the slash series amps that knob only controls the bass boost not the amp level will that protect me from blowing the subs if I crank the knob but leave the amp at the same level? Also second question about the knob....on the g6 there is that one button panel that is next to the fog light button would I be able to mount it there? if so does anyone have any experience figuring that out? thanks guys

yea I am using a line leveler.....keeping the stock headunit....how does that work then that you are able to control the bass? I have the monsoon sound system does that make a difference? And which speakers should I tap into? the rear deck speakers have the weird 4 wire setup should I use those and if so which of the 4 should i tap into? or should I splice the line level in before the monsoon amp and if I have to do that which wires should i get into? thanks

i thought you couldnt do that if you line level it out? Do you have the monsoon system? where did you line level it before or after the amp? so either rear speakers or before the amp

ok so I installed the subs with a guy who works at frys in the car audio section and does installs like this all the time(he claims he knows what he is doing) well we installed the subs and they worked fine pounded pretty well but then i was driving home the music was pretty low then all of the sudden the subs dropped out so i figured a wire got loose but then i smelled electrical fire so i pulled over and stopped the car....the subs were going crazy the diaphragms were going back and forth really fast and they were smoking.....they both ended up welding themselves together as he said it.....I am wondering what the hell went wrong????? the only thing with the connections that I could think about was when he hooked up the line out converter he attached the left and right positive and negative (of the converter) to the wire that leads from the terminals of the speaker to the cone/speaker itself..... Here is a picture of what I am talking about

Is this ok???? I think it might be an issue because the speakers have like 3 wires going to them or something bc i have the monsoon system.....if thats not the problem what do you guys think may have caused this? we had the input gain of the converter all the way up and the input gain on the amp really low so idk what happened...could it jus be bad subs(quite possible they were used)

Ok which wires should I splice into? The rear speaker inputs or the woofer? The inputs would be 29 and 30 and 37 38 and the woofers would be 17 18 21 22....one of the guides on this site recommends to do the inputs and had success....but you obviously have done it with the woofers and have had success too so I am not sure which one I should do
