I am considering a navigation system for my 2008 G6. I've been checking out a couple of units on the Crutchfield site.

I'm interested in finding out if anyone else has done this and what your experience has been.

i just got a 07 G6 GT and was thinking about the same thing, i wanted to replace the head unit altogether with an in dash with nav all in one, i found this one that i kinda like, and you can set the lighting to red so it matches the rest of the interior lighting on the dash:

i do have ONE cocern that im trying to figure out, and that's if whether or not the steering wheel controls and Driver information center will be effected, cause i dont really want to do that.

Good Luck! message me if you find anything we can bounce ideas back and forth

You will have to by an adapter to keep your steering wheel controls and you will lose the DIC. The only way to keep the DIC is to buy the Metra 99-3303 and put it somewhere like the glovebox or center console.

I put an Alpine IVA-W505 in my G6 and I loved it. Ask away if you have any questions.

Right now my Metra is in place of the glovebox. I did that because I thought I might sell the Metra later on, but since that never happened I'm going to be shaving the sides off the metra and putting the glovebox back in with the metra inside of it.

As long as you have some electrical knowledge it's very easy to do yourself.
