Yes you can replace them with aftermarket speakers. When I bought my car, both my 6x9's were blown and I put in aftermarkets; they work just fine. I don't believe we had to do any manual wiring to mine, just as long as they are the same size, you should be fine.
Aftermarket rear speakers in monsoon system
Hey, I recently blew out one of my 6x9s and was wondering if it is possible to replace with an aftermarket speaker, as I don't want to pay around $250 for an OEM pair from my dealer when I can find much better ones for around $115. I've heard that they would need to be 2 ohm and I'd need to remove the crossover and hook up the 4 wires manually. Has anyone done this or have any know how on how to do it? Thank you!
